Hello my darlings, how was everyone’s weekend? Ours was nothing less than perfection. We spoiled ourselves with a room at the Fairmount Waterfront, which had an amazing view of the harbor. Friday night we waited 2 hours for a table at the incredible, gourmet Indian restaurant Vij’s (they don’t take res and only have about 15 tables) and I can say without hesitation that it was totally worth it. Not only did they come round with delicious appetizers during the wait, but (unless I am very much mistaken) we were waiting with Sofia Coppola! Such fun! The food was absolute divinity, spiced to perfection, with complex flavors unfolding for hours on the tongue. Saturday night we continued the decadent trend with drinks at Uva Wine Bar and dinner at Cibo Trattoria. I am usually a pretty hard sell when it comes to Italian cuisine, having spent far too many … Continue reading
Five years ago today, Jacob and I had our first date. As if that number isn’t crazy enough on its own, as I’m 25, that translates to 20% of my life! What! We are heading up to Vancouver BC today for a romantic mini-break. I can’t wait!
Thank you so much, my love, for being there for me through thick and thin, the amazing, heart-stopping times (Joshua Tree, San Diego, Florence, the list goes on…), and the mundane, head-meets-wall times (endless dish washing, moving, job changing, oh yes…). You are the best, most caring man that I know and I have nothing but love, respect, and adoration for you. I am the luckiest, happiest girl around. I love you!
But wait, who’s that blonde girl kissing my boyfriend!?
Ha! Here you go at last my chickies: the result of my hair adventures. What do we think?
Ladies and gents, the Lykke Li love fest continues. I give you Wounded Rhymes in its glorious entirety:
The album is out on March 1st, but can be pre-ordered at Ms. Li’s website. We wants it.
Happy Tuesday my dears, and I hope you are all staying warm and safe. What is this snow business anyway?
Happy happy day! Lykke Li released another song off her new album, Wounded Rhymes, on Friday! Ms. Li describes the track, “Lust Out Of Love”, as one of her personal favorites and I am inclined to agree. What do you think?
I’m a huge sucker for stunning jewelery, especially if it involves pointy, toothy, or feathered goodness. This crowd-stopping quill necklace from Lulu Frost is a winner in my book. Love the earrings too!
I am in love with Bagatelles&co’s retro inspired clutches and purses. Each one is handmade from vintage silk, liberty fabric, or brocade remnants, for guaranteed uniqueness. If you want to go a step further, they can even be personalized with names … Continue reading
A few weeks ago I started craving pudding. I’m not sure from whence precisely sprang this schoolyard-esque pining, but it was serious. I’m talking pregnancy level here folks. And, no, I am emphatically not. Nothing would do therefore but to indulge myself, which I proceeded to do for a week straight.
Reactions to tapioca are a motley sort, ranging from obsession (present!) to loathing. Certainly, the texture and appearance of bad tapioca resembles few things more than fish eyeballs. But pair this opalescent little pearl with coconut, and I challenge even the most skeptical to deny its charms. I used Bob’s Red Mill small tapioca which worked quite nicely.
For me, this luscious, rich and eminently satisfying dish hit the spot. With a creamy, custard-like pillow cradling the smooth pearls and flavor that gets cozy on the tongue. And while I am not adverse to the notion that egg could … Continue reading
