I am generally prompt to a fault when it comes to birthdays, but today I must admit failure. Utter failure. My darlings, dizzy swallows turned 1 on June 16th and the day slipped by like any other. So it is with regret that I wish a belated birthday to dizzy, but with great pride and pleasure that I form the words “One year.” The past year has brought me so many new joys and horizons, new interests and communities. It has brought me a continuity, and a place of respite and pause. It has brought me you my dear, wonderful friends. Thank you for coming with me on this adventure, as I stumble through mud and briars towards my own little oasis. I hope you enjoy this space as much as I do, and I cherish your words and thoughts. I know dizzy has come a long way from my first stuttering posts, but there are worlds of strangeness and beauty yet to be discovered and explored.
Let us find them, you and I.
