First off, I apologize to any of you who are sports fans, but I just have to say: GO HAWKS!!! So proud of my team for making it to the Super Bowl! Jacob and I haven’t missed a game all year, including preseason, and knew from the first it was our year. Of course, last night’s game was a real nail-biter that I’m fairly sure took about 2 years off my life. This from the the NY Times: “…a frenetic final 15 minutes of a frenetic second half of a frenetic game featuring the two best teams in the conference, maybe the league — teams that care for each other not at all…”
And you have to love all the love between this team and we 12s.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t feature a Seattle artist now and while I love you Macklemore, this calls for some Blue Scholars (bonus points for all the food, and hey you can even spy Mack himself towards the end):
I can’t believe it’s already so close, but we will cheering on the Hawks’ Super Bowl from Australia in less than two weeks! We land in Syndey with just enough time to clear customs and make it to a friendly sports bar. After a few days in Oz, we’ll be off to New Zealand for about a month, driving the whole of both islands! So very excited. Then to top it all off, on our way home we have a five day “layover” Fiji. How lucky can one girl get?
Here’s a few highlights I’m looking forward to…
Strolling through the rain forests:
Sunbathing on the beaches of Abel Tasman:
Paddling the fjords of Milford Sound:
Exploring the magical glowworm caves of Waitomo:
And of course…Fiji.
And here are a few items I wouldn’t mind taking along for the trip…
This sugar skull scarf:
This gorgeous eyelash onesie, because every honeymoon should include lace:
This perfect silk blouse from Everlane:
This adorable romper. Look at those pompoms!
Hope you are all well!
