Little Bits for a Monday

Little Bits for a Monday

December 13th, 2010 1 Comment

Hello my dears, I hope you all had a lovely, cozy weekend. Mine was filled with shuffling various objects around, nesting a bit, baking, cooking, and enjoying well stoked fires.

Today’s song comes to you from The Tallest Man on Earth. Swedish born, The Tallest Man has some wonderful finger-picking, a voice that is just interesting enough to make you pause, and music that is easy to love. I found this video particularly appropriate as I dig through relics of my childhood and rediscover old photos.

There is something about December that keeps me in a single outfit – namely the most comfortable, snuggly things I own – nearly the entire month (with breaks for washing, don’t fret). Slippers are a necessary part of this and what could be better than these cozy shearling scuffs?

Antlers may be a bit passé at this point (like, so two years ago. wink wink) but I’m still a fan. This great site has your antler needs covered. Well mostly. I do recall seeing an entire Christmas tree made out of antlers in Texas…

For us, holiday baking started last night (more to come on that, rest assured). If you’re still searching for deliscious inspiration, check out these scrumptious looking roasted chestnut cookies over at Smitten Kitchen.

If you’ve ever been lucky enough to be the proud owner of a dog (or really any pet for that matter), this video will have you tearing up in a trice. But in a good way. Homecomings are even better during the holidays aren’t they? There’s a Rockwell painting here somewhere.

There is something very familiar about his voice. Definitely sounds like a lot of old-timey folk/rockers, and certainly nostalgia-inducing ;-)
