AllSaints Lookbook

April 27th, 2011 2 Comments

I recently ran across AllSaints SS2011 Lookbook and spent the next 20 minutes mouth agape, almost literally drooling onto my keyboard. It was one of those times where my imaginary closet and an entire collection become one and the same. With the especially cold spring Seattle’s been having, the versatility of these pieces would be perfect. I love the minimalistic palette and unique silhouettes as well. Below are a few of my favorites for your enjoyment.

Happy mid-week darlings!

Little Bits for a Monday

April 18th, 2011

My sweets, how was your weekend? I hardly feel like I have time to catch my breath before we dash off again, this time to Vancouver. But more on my crazy wedding travels later in the week.

This morning I’d like to share a song and video from one of my favorite new discoveries, an all girl quartet out of Los Angeles that goes by the (kick-ass) name Warpaint. The song, “Stars”, is from the group’s 2009 EP, Exquisite Corpse, but you can hear their latest album, The Fool here. Their music combines hypnotic vocals with intricate guitar, and heavy post-punk rhythms that come together to form something between ambient horror and an intimate, effortless lullaby.

The film was shot in the ashes of the Angeles National Forest by Adam Harding, and makes me miss all my college girlies.

Though it is still sweatshirt weather here in … Continue reading

Woven Fabric Heidi Braids

April 15th, 2011 2 Comments

Hello my lovelies! How has another Friday crept up on us so quickly? What are your plans for the weekend? Jacob and I are heading to LA bright and early tomorrow for the wedding of a very dear friend (well, two very dear friends). Oh sweet sunshine. Not only do we get to celebrate their commitment ceremony in Santa Monica, on Monday we get to do it all over again in Vancouver for their official vows! Like most things wedding related, double is always better. I’ve got my outfit for LA all picked out but have yet to decide what to do with my hair. This super cute variation on the classic Heidi braid, from the Rachel Roy fall 2011 show, may be a contender. What do we think?

I love that this could be as formal or informal as you like depending on what fabric you use. You can … Continue reading

Pull & Bear Summer Envy

April 14th, 2011 2 Comments

Spanish label Pull & Bear’s Spring 2011 lookbook has me cringing over how much I want summer to be here. Being in nature, frolicking with friends, braids, flowers, and – oh sweet Jesus – sunbathing on docks is what the season’s all about to me. Dreamy, golden, suffused with light and petals, this campaign was perfectly styled by Alberto Murta and photographed by Txema Yeste, Mackenzie Weinmann, Amalie Hartman, Elinor Jade, Max Motta and Arthur Sales.

The label also has super cute “Weekly Looks” for men and women here.

Not So Mellow Yellow

March 11th, 2011 1 Comment

I can hardly contain my anticipation for spring skies to banish the present leaden sheet of grey. I am dying to feel even the watery warmth of northwest sunshine of my skin, to bask in the scent of colorful floral explosions. In the meantime, I cannot get enough of these shades of saffron, lemon and gold. Perhaps I could be content to dress myself in sunshine until the real thing shows its face.

And a special shout-out today to my girl Aleah, who has always been a bright ray of sun in my life. Happiest of birthdays my dear!
