My name is Danielle and this is my blog. I am a mother, yoga teacher and doula, oil painter, photographer, as well as avid book worm, and sometime domineering chef (in my own kitchen). I adore the process of making things by hand and revel in the fruits of my labor. I have an unhealthy obsession with blue glass. Travel is one of the things that lights me up. I live with my husband and sometime sous chef, Jacob and our son, Quentin. Jacob and I met in Los Angeles while attending college. He grew up on San Juan Island, I grew up about an hour away on Whidbey Island. Yeah, it was meant to be. Cue chirping birds and rainbows. You can read about the proposal here and see our engagement photos here. You can also read about and see photos from our wedding here, here, and here. My son is the apple of my eye, my pride and my joy. You can read about my expereince of pregnancy here and here, and about our birth story here. Between the two of them, they keep my days and heart full.
Dizzy swallows is a place for me to share the things dear to my heart and to explore the complex singularity of places, objects, moments and people. Writing here helps me to recognize and remember the simple pleasures and the important moments.
I love to hear from you. I read all comments and do my darndest to reply as consistently as humanly possible. I appreciate the words, feedback and support so very much. No, seriously, you make my day. Thanks for visiting!
