Happy Monday to you my lovelies! For this morning’s music I’m sticking close to home with a video from the Seattle band, Fleet Foxes. This track, “Grown Ocean”, is off their new LP, Helpnessless Blues, which is out May 3rd in the US, May 2nd in the UK. I love the dusty quality of this little film and the obvious camaraderie of the band as they record the album, tour, and smile at each other.
What do you think? If you want more, you can hear the album’s title track here.
Have you ever fancied yourself an Indie music expert? Do you crouch atop your extensive collection of vinyl like a dragon atop a pile of shiny jewels? Ahem. No, certainly not. Well the Georgia magazine, Chunklet, has put together a hilarious, soul-crushing, 200 page “Indie Cred Test”. See just how much cred you have by answering part of Chapter 14, which was kindly reprinted by Sterogum here.
These days, it’s hard to do anything original with repurposed bicycles parts. Jacob and I are big fans of Alchemy Goods here in Seattle, but when I saw Carolina Fontoura Alzaga bicycle chandeliers my jaw literally dropped. Gorgeous, eh? Spring is in the air, though we’re still being drenched with plenty of April showers. If there was any justice in the world, Seattle would soon look something like this:
I can’t resist posting more of these gorgeous Dutch tulip fields, so I will leave you with these colorful images and my best wishes for a lovely week.
