There is something indelibly charming about genuine, old timey pinups. Those pert faces, those high arches, those impossibly shapely gams. I’m sure much of it has to do with the underlying assumption that at some point in time – one filled with soda fountains, milkmen, and miles of powder blue cars – creatures like this actually walked the earth. I recently spotted this wonderful before and after mash-up of pinups and those real life women who modeled for them. It is amazing to see how these painted representations are nothing less than the original Photoshop. May I refer you to the wasp-like waists, the overflowing decolletage, and the magical melting away of anywhere from 5 to 15 pounds. Finally, could it be that those sweetly puckered lips may have been the unfortunate parent of the strange and horrible duck face…?
