Summer and New Beginnings

Summer and New Beginnings

June 21st, 2012 1 Comment

Happy summer my dears! I feel the distinct need to set this post to the soundtrack of David Bowie’s “Changes”, but will restrain myself. What a year it has been already. The tectonic plates of my life have been steadily shifting since December, and now (I hope) the quakes and tremors are beginning to subside as the landscape takes on some semblance of stillness. So. The news. Last week my year at the Gage Classical Atelier came to a close in grand style with a final show, an award (People’s Choice, baby!), and fond goodbyes.

My award winning cast drawing (heh). “Blitzkrieg”, Charcoal on Paper, 2012.

While this transition is not unmarred by sadness, it does mean I will be getting to spend some much needed time tending to my dear dizzy, which has been left to the weeds in this past year. I plan to return shortly to my regular schedule of three weekly postings.

…Which leads me to the other major change: we’re buying a house!!

That’s right, as of June 29th (if closing goes forward on schedule) Jacob and I will be a couple of proud (if not slightly nervy) homeowners. The home in question is an immaculately cared for 1910 Victorian in the Seattle bedroom-community of Edmonds. Many, many pictures to follow obviously, but in the meantime here’s one Jacob snapped of me on the front porch (there’s also a big back deck!).

p.s. I still have a batch of Asia photos to share, so keep an eye out for those!

Great SOLD pic. But your drawing…beyond awesome!

Just incredible. Looking forward to really seeing it some day soon. Also looking forward to seeing you both on the 6th.

Been working most of the day getting my new (2 months old) lawn mower working. Happy home ownership. :-]

Love to you both from both of us!
