I rarely review movies on dizzy, but after watching Jim Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive, I could barely keep myself from jumping off the couch to tell you all about it right then and there. Not only does it feature a scene wherein shirtless Tom Hiddleston, complete with lank, black rocker hair and leather pants, licks on a blood popsicle (bless you Jim), but the film resoundingly obliterates the sparkling travesty that has been passing as the genre’s flagship for far too long. And that right there may be enough to recommend it! Don’t go in expecting any gory neck biting or climbing up the wall action scenes. Hello my lovelies, I hope you all had a good weekend! We had a fairly relaxing couple of days, enjoying The World Series, sipping on hot spiced cider (judiciously spiked with bourbon), and continuing to batten-down the proverbial hatches for winter. It seems that this weekend was also the de facto Halloween, certainly for the adults. I’m curious to see if we get any trick-or-treaters on Wednesday. I certainly hope so!
